Management of website pages Allows for pages to be added, edited, moved and deleted. There is an unlimited depth for sub-pages - although for usability reasons we recommend this be kept to a maximum of three levels. Only the admin user can add top level pages. |
Media Manager Allows total management of all images and documents placed online. Easily add or remove folders, images and documents whilst viewing where the element is used throughout the site. Ideal for administrators who like to keep the site clean and tidy. |

'My Tasks' Feature When a user logs into the CMS they can view a their personal summary: Pages that are owned by them, pages that are checked-out by them, their pages which are un-approved, their pages that have expired and their pages that are set to go live on a set date. |
Page approval status Pages can be set to un-approved so that a user can save a page and return to it at a later date before setting it to live. This setting also applies to pages underneath the top level, meaning that entire 'branches' can be turned on or off. |
Tiered user permissions An administration user has global permissions. They can access the user permissions module to setup and edit users. A user to the CMS is given particular permissions based on their role. Permissions can be set for each top level page 'branch'; either as an editor, author or none. An editor has full access within that 'branch'. An author can only edit pages that they own but can create new pages. Users can also be given access (or not) to any extra module configured in the CMS. |
Page lifetime feature This allows for pages to be automatically displayed for a certain length of time. Either by setting the ‘Go Live’ date, setting the expiry date or both. |
Search engine keywords & descriptions HTML 'Meta' keyword and description tags can be set for each individual page. |
Check-in / Check-out feature In order to edit a page the user has to check-out the page. This effectively locks the page so that no other user can make any changes until the page has been checked back in. On multi-author sites this system safeguards against users overwriting pages. The administrator can over-ride this page lock. |
Search Engine friendly page URL’s The Mosaic system has been built from the ground up with Search Engines in mind. Therefore all pages are search engine friendly allowing the entire site to be properly indexed.
W3C CSS Compliant front-end The code that is generated by the Mosaic CMS is XHTML 1.0 transitional. This is a version of the latest and most compliant markup.
