From company formation in 1996, Working Abroad have been actively promoting and supporting voluntary projects worldwide. The company provides a personalised search for active volunteers who wish to get involved, scouring their global network for exactly the right match. They also provide lots of useful links and information for anyone wishing to teach.
Challenges
The original website was an in-house development created with Frontpage and was starting to show it's age. The site employed the use of frames and was limiting the site's visibility despite being easier to manage.
Working Abroad wanted to retain and develop a particular style for the site, keeping an ethnic flavour to the site which fits perfectly with their target audience.
Another major factor with this site rebuild was that of multiple forms and applications including an online payment facility. After a scoping period we identitified all areas that needed attention and were tasked with the job of centralising these into a manageable administration system, something that was well overdue.
The new Mosaic CMS system enables Working Abroad to control all areas of their site, adding new projects, and the wide range of other information currently found on the site.
Achievements
Working Abroad have had fantastic feedback from the new site design, and visitor levels have increased significantly since the re-launch.
The online administration system has been the biggest success however with the in-house team managing all projects in a controlled fashion and more importantly the subscription finances are being streamlined to aid in ongoing business operations.
